What is an Employee Assistance Programme?

An EAP, or Employee Assistance Programme, is a voluntary work-based intervention programme, offered by employers as an employee benefit. EAPs are designed to provide support for employees who are experiencing life issues that may impact their psycho-social functioning  and  productivity  in the workplace, which may result in absenteeism, presenteeism amongst other workplace issues.

Will my company ever see what my employees discuss?

No. Never. Not under any circumstances. Employees engage with our clinical team in complete confidence. Your organisation receives only anonymised, aggregated utilisation data — no names, no diagnoses, no personal details. If employees didn’t trust this completely, they wouldn’t use the service. How does invoicing work?

Simple. Your monthly retainer is a fixed invoice. Clinical sessions are itemised based on actual utilisation. Your finance team sees exactly what was used, when, and at what cost. There are no hidden fees, no service charges, and no surprises.

How does an employee actually access the service?

They reach out directly to TeleHealthSA using the access details provided during onboarding. Our triage coordinators take it from there — intake, assessment, and practitioner scheduling all handled on our side. For the employee, it is as simple as sending a message or making a call.
